EQ Bank Registered Season Bonus Promotion Terms & Conditions

This document sets out the terms and conditions (the “Terms”) applicable to the EQ Bank Registered Season Bonus Promotion (the “Promotion”). All monetary amounts are in Canadian dollars.

In these Terms, “EQ Bank”, “we”, and “our” refer to Equitable Bank, and “you” and “your” refer to a participant in the Promotion, including any Eligible Customer (as defined below).

1. General

The Promotion is open to Eligible Customers who:

  1. Deposit new funds from an external source outside of EQ Bank (“New Deposits”) into their EQ Bank Retirement Savings Plan (“RRSP”), EQ Bank First Home Savings Account (“FHSA”), and/or EQ Bank Tax-Free Savings Account (“TFSA”) cash savings accounts (collectively, the “Registered Cash Savings Account(s)”) between November 27, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. ET and March 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotional Period”);
  2. Hold such New Deposits in their Registered Cash Savings Account(s) for six months, from March 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET to September 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Hold Period”); and
  3. Meet all other eligibility criteria and comply with the terms and conditions set out in these Terms.

New Deposits must be new funds transferred from outside of EQ Bank into a Registered Cash Savings Account during the Promotional Period. Internal transfers of existing funds between EQ Bank accounts do not qualify as New Deposits; however, internal transfers of funds from an external source that are first deposited into a Personal Account (for clarity, references to Personal Accounts in these Terms include Joint Accounts, unless specified otherwise) during the Promotional Period and subsequently moved into a Registered Cash Savings Account during the Promotional Period may qualify, provided that for Joint Accounts, transfers of New Deposits from the Joint Account will only qualify for the Bonus Payment if transferred to the primary Joint Account holder’s Registered Cash Savings Account.

EQ Bank will pay a tiered cash bonus payment as set out in Section 3 of these Terms (the “Bonus Payment”) for qualifying New Deposits that are held in the Registered Cash Savings Account(s) during the Hold Period. New Deposits held in Guaranteed Investment Certificates within an RRSP, FHSA or TFSA (“Registered GICs”) will not be eligible for the Bonus Payment.

2. Eligibility

The Promotion is open to all new and existing primary holders of both a Personal Account and at least one of an RRSP, FHSA and/or TFSA, except in Quebec, where the Promotion is only available to new and existing primary holders of both a Personal Account and TFSA (each, an “Eligible Customer”). For clarity, you must be eligible to become an RRSP, FHSA and/or TFSA holder and a Personal Account holder to be eligible for this Promotion.

3. Bonus Payment

The Bonus Payment will be calculated based on the combined total of New Deposits credited to your Registered Cash Savings Account(s) during the Promotional Period and held throughout the Hold Period. New Deposits held in Registered GICs will not be eligible for or count towards the Bonus Payment.

To qualify for a Bonus Payment, along with meeting the other requirements in these Terms, the total balance across your Registered Cash Savings Account(s) and Registered GIC(s) must be higher at the end of the Promotional Period than at the beginning of the Promotional Period. Additionally, your total Registered Cash Savings Account(s) balance must be higher at the end of the Promotional Period than at the beginning of the Promotional Period. This means that if a Registered GIC matures during the Promotional Period and these funds are withdrawn from your Registered Cash Savings Account, the overall balance used to determine your Bonus Payment will decrease, which may reduce your eligibility and Bonus Payment. To avoid this, any funds from Registered GICs that mature during the Promotional Period should either remain in the Registered Cash Savings Account or be reinvested into Registered GICs.

At the end of the Hold Period, we will calculate your Bonus Payment based on any increase in the combined balance of your Registered Cash Savings Account(s) from New Deposits (excluding any interest paid by us) during the Promotional Period. A Bonus Payment will only be made if the New Deposits total at least $4,000 and were held in your Registered Cash Savings Account(s) throughout the Hold Period. The Bonus Payment will be awarded as follows:

For clarity, the Bonus Payment is based on the combined total of New Deposits across all Registered Cash Savings Account(s) and is limited to one Bonus Payment per Eligible Customer. For example, if you deposit $10,000 into multiple Registered Cash Savings Accounts during the Promotional Period and hold these deposits in the accounts throughout the Hold Period, you will receive a single Bonus Payment of $200.

4. Payment of Bonus Payment

The Bonus Payment will be credited to the first EQ Bank Personal Account you opened that remains in good standing (provided that it will only be credited to a Joint Account if you do not have any individual Personal Accounts open and in good standing at the time of the Bonus Payment). The Bonus Payment will be credited within 10 business days of the end of the Hold Period. Both your Registered Cash Savings Account(s) and Personal Account must be in good standing at the time the Bonus Payment is credited.

5. Taxes

You acknowledge that you are responsible for any obligations relating to tax reporting that arise from Bonus Payments made to you under this Promotion.

6. Termination, Suspension, or Modification

Unless otherwise stated, these Terms shall take precedence over any other materials promoting the Promotion. We reserve the right, without prior notice, to terminate, suspend, adjust or modify the Promotion (including but not limited to modification of the Promotional Period, Hold Period, Bonus Payment or eligibility requirements) in any way, in whole or in part or for select participants, for any reason in our sole discretion, or if the Promotion cannot run as planned, including due to infection by a computer virus, bugs, fraud, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the security, administration, or conduct of this Promotion. Any changes to the Promotion, including changes to timing, will take effect upon posting on the EQ Bank website, unless otherwise indicated.

This includes the right to suspend, disqualify, limit, or revoke access to the Promotion and to not pay the Bonus Payment to any individual(s) we find or believe to be manipulating or otherwise abusing the process, fairness, or integrity of the Promotion. Bonus Payments that are obtained through fraudulent activities or activities which violate these Terms will be null and void and repayment may be required by EQ Bank.

In addition to these Terms, all terms and conditions associated with your EQ Bank accounts and products will continue to apply, including but not limited to those applicable to your Registered Cash Savings Account(s).

7. Promotion Limitations

The Bonus Payment is non-transferable and non-assignable. No substitutions will be permitted. The Promotion cannot be combined with any other promotions except as expressly permitted by us.

8. Opting Out of Promotion

If all the conditions in these Terms are met, an Eligible Customer will automatically qualify for the Promotion and receive the Bonus Payment. If you would like to opt out of this Promotion, please email contact@eqbank.ca from the email address associated with your EQ Bank Personal Account before the end of the Promotional Period with the subject line “Registered Account Bonus Payment Opt Out” and include your first and last name.

9. Protection of Personal Information

By participating in the Promotion, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information for the purposes of administering the Promotion and Bonus Payment fulfillment.

10. Acceptance

By participating in the Promotion, you confirm you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them. Any notice provided by us with respect to these Terms will be deemed provided on the day it is posted on our website or otherwise provided to you.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and the Promotion shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province or territory in which you reside, and by the laws of Canada applicable therein. You agree to submit to and be bound by those laws and the courts of that jurisdiction.

12. Language Terms

For Québec residents only: You acknowledge and agree that you have first been presented with and have examined the French version of these Terms, and that you then have expressly requested that these Terms, and all related documents including notices, be drawn up in the English language and that you wish to and agree to be bound by the English version of these Terms.
